In short: Plinth runs in your browser. Your screenshots and mockups are never uploaded, there are no accounts or cookies, and the only thing counted is anonymous totals.
Your screenshots and mockups
When you add a screenshot, your browser reads it from your device and Plinth draws the mockup right there, in the page. The screenshot and the mockups you export are never sent to us or to anyone else. There's no server that receives them, and the site's security policy blocks the page from sending data to other servers, apart from the anonymous counts described below.
What's kept on your device
So a reload doesn't lose your work, Plinth keeps your last screenshot and your settings (the mockup, crop and export choices you picked) in your browser's own storage (IndexedDB), on this device only. They stay until you clear them:
- with On this device → Clear from this device in the editor, or
- by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
Exported images are saved wherever your browser saves downloads, or wherever you choose in your phone's share sheet.
No accounts, no cookies, anonymous counts only
Plinth doesn't ask for your name, email or anything else about you, and it sets no cookies. To learn what's working, it counts visits anonymously with Cloudflare Web Analytics: which pages are viewed, the site a visit came from, the country, browser and type of device, and how quickly pages load.
These counts never include your images, your file names or anything that identifies you, and there's no advertising.
If you send feedback
The feedback form emails us what you type, and your email address if you add one, along with which page you sent it from and your browser type (for example, "Safari on iOS"), so we can reply and fix problems. It isn't stored anywhere else, and your screenshots are never included.
What our host sees
Like any website, the service that hosts Plinth receives the ordinary details of each request for the site's files (such as your IP address, browser type and the page asked for) and may keep them briefly in its logs for security and to keep the site running. These requests only ever fetch Plinth's own files: the page, its code, fonts and mockup images. They never contain your screenshots.
Children
Plinth is a design tool for a general audience and doesn't knowingly collect anything from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date. If Plinth ever starts collecting anything, this page will say exactly what and why before it happens.
